Moderation commands

Admin warn, mute, ban, stealth ban, promote, and demote commands and escalation rules.

These commands are for group admins. Reply to the member’s message, then send the command. Ban, mute, and warn cannot target another admin. Promote and demote are supergroup-only and accept reply or @username / USER_ID where noted.

Core commands

Command Purpose
/warn [reason] Warn the replied-to non-admin. Reason optional.
/mute [duration] Mute; omit duration to mute until /unmute.
/unmute Restore posting rights.
/ban Ban the replied-to non-admin.
/sban Stealth ban: ban and delete the target message and the command.
/unban Lift a ban (admin targets allowed).
/promote Supergroup only. Promote via reply or @username/USER_ID.
/demote Supergroup only. Demote admins Lucy promoted.

Mute durations

Use a whole number plus a unit:

  • Minutes: m, min, mins (example /mute 30m)
  • Hours: h, hr, hrs (example /mute 2h)
  • Days: d, day, days (example /mute 1d)

/mute with no argument stays muted until an admin runs /unmute.

Warnings and escalation

Warnings accumulate per member in each group.

Setting Values (default bold)
Warn limit 2 / 3 / 4 / 5
On limit mute (24 hours) / ban

When the limit is reached, Lucy applies the configured action and resets that member’s warning count for the next cycle. Example: limit 3 and mute means the third warning applies a 24-hour mute and clears the count.

Configure Warn limit and On limit under Moderation in /settings.

Promote and demote

  • /promote grants rights from the group’s promote template intersected with rights Lucy herself holds. If she lacks admin rights to grant, she says so.
  • /demote only removes promotions Lucy performed. It will not strip unrelated admins.

Manual commands, report-card actions, and quarantine verdicts share the same moderation primitives and audit path. Guild-wide bans use /gban instead; see Guilds.
