Getting started

Add Lucy to your group, grant the rights she needs, and run the readiness check.

Lucy starts watching your group the moment she joins, but she only acts on what you switch on. Detection runs on its own from the first minute; CAPTCHA, greetings, and housekeeping stay off until you enable them.

1. Add Lucy to your group

Open a private chat with Lucy and send /start, then use Add me to a group. Pick the group from Telegram’s picker and she introduces herself when she arrives.

2. Promote her to admin

Lucy needs admin rights to do her job:

  • Restrict members: required for mutes, quarantine holds, and CAPTCHA
  • Delete messages: required for cleaning up flagged content and system notices
  • Ban members: required for verdicts and moderation commands
  • Add administrators: optional, only needed if you plan to use /promote

Missing rights do not break her; she tells you what she cannot do.

3. Run the readiness check

Send /start inside the group. Lucy replies with a private-to-you summary of what she can do with the rights she has, so you can spot a missing permission before it matters.

4. Know the defaults

  • Detection is always on. Suspicious joins and messages are scored, and anything past the quarantine threshold is muted and reported to your admins.
  • CAPTCHA is off. Turn it on from /settings when you want new members to prove they are human.
  • Welcome and goodbye messages are off. Set them with /setwelcome and /setgoodbye.
  • System message removal is off. Lucy can delete join/leave and pin notices if you enable it.
  • Reputation sharing is on. Confirmed moderation actions contribute to a cross-group standing record. You can opt out per group in /settings.

5. Route evidence to an admin chat

Without configuration, Lucy DMs quarantine evidence to every admin who has started her. For a shared space, run /adminchat in the managed group, then /claim CODE in your private admin group. Evidence cards and reports land there instead. See Admin chat.

6. Manage her from your DMs

Send /groups to Lucy in private, pick a group you admin, and /settings and friends apply to it without typing in the group. /disconnect clears the connection.
